It is a great pleasure to welcome the third edition of the Dubai International Equestrian Conference, which is considered a conscious initiative, in line with global trends to develop awareness of equestrian activities, develop its legislation and ways of practice pursant to legal regulations, along with the best practices that take into account the interest of horses and their welfare, in accordance with the highest international standards. .
The establishment of this conference in the United Arab Emirates carries great connotations inspired by the spirit and values of horsemanship. Such values and spirit are an integral part of our national heritage and in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Furthermore the meeting enhances the UAE's equestrian image so that our national experience will serve as a model for the rest of the world.
The conference has had a distinguished and qualitative participation of horsemen and equine experts who enriched its sessions with discussion and dialogue, that handled the issues at hand with great prudentiality, objectivity and awareness. Moreover they have addressed fundamental issues the nature of which is medical, veterinary, legal, administrative, regulatory and media. The effort exerted by them addresses the concerns of the equestrian industry globally and within the Arab world. Additionally the effort develops appropriate solutions that match the nature of this vital activity.
I cannot fail to mention here, in particular, the high participation of their Royal Highnesses, The Princes from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who added a new dimension to the activities of the Conference and contributed to its success by raising awareness of fundamental issues, all of which they experienced on the ground, being equestrians and horses owners for which we extend our thanks and appreciation to them. Our thanks extends further to their Highnesses the Sheikhs and officials of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain for their efforts and dedication to the service of the equestrian industry and horses, and their role in the success of the conference. The recommendations of the conference came as a result of tireless efforts, with the participation of prestigious national, Arab and international experts, which are worthy of follow-up and analysis. This is due to the fact that it addresses the reality of equestrian industry and outlines its future, with a conscious vision coupled with being aware of the public interest. Adherance to the guidelines mentioned here, would ultimately lead to achieving the desired goals. I look forward to the recommendations of the conference being considered and finding their path to practical application.
In conclusion, I would like to thank the President of the Conference, Brother Mr. Mustafa Ali Bin Ahmed Amshan and his team at Royal Equestrian in Dubai, for concieving idea of the conference and its execution in an impressive manner, with my wishes for success.
